Taijiquan is an internal Chinese martial art often practiced for health reasons.

Some of Taijiquan training forms are well known to Westerners as the slow motion routines
that groups of people practice together every morning in parks around the world, particularly
in China.

If someone in China speaks about Taijiquan, he speaks about "the way of the harmony".
Taijiquan constitutes an important part of the treatment program in hospitals and
sanatoriums and often works with chronic diseases.

The characteristic of Taijiquan consists of the fact that the exercises are accomplished very
slowly and softly. They require a high degree at concentration, whereby the spirit is
diverted from no other things. The respiration is natural and in rhythmic harmony with the
movements of the body is implemented.
